Walking in Pink

Today was the Race for the Cure and The Professor and I got up early to save the bazoombas!

We joined a team at the invitation of my Club WW leader. This is most of the group:

I'm in the front row, second to right. The Professor is off camera to my left. I think he was shy about showing off his new shoes:

This was my second 5K and I'm getting used to the idea that there's a lot of standing and waiting before walking. So I took The Professor's picture:

And then he took my picture:

I asked a stranger to take our picture together:

And then I took a picture of our shadows:

iPhones are useful entertainment while you're waiting.

And then the race began and we were off! I wanted to improve my time from the Cowtown Marathon last month, which I finished in 50:08. Today's course had a hill and I wasn't sure if I could do it.

Dillypoo hasn't quite worked inclines into her workouts yet. I may need to start doing that.

But we managed to keep a good pace and we finished the course in 47:13! A new record for Dillypoo!

And thanks to all of you who sponsored us, we raised $587.68! Which makes The Professor's new blister seem like a trifling inconvenience.

I should probably buy him some decent socks now to go with his new shoes.
