Dillypoo had an exciting and busy weekend! I took a cooking class and almost burned down a professional kitchen (twice), I swallowed a bug during an 11 mile run and cheated death at 60 feet:

Kismet. The cosmos were perfectly aligned for Dillypoo's Dashboard Diner today. I’d already planned to make s’mores in the car this week when I discovered today is National S’mores Day!







A whole holiday dedicated to the gooey, yummy goodness that

I left chicken little to bake at 11:00 a.m. I took a couple of pictures throughout the day, but an egg in it's shell looks pretty much the same at 99 degrees as it does at 108.

It's hot. When the temperature reached 100 degrees today, it became the 23rd day in a row of triple digit heat. And summer didn't just show up after a cool day in June. Last month it hit 100+ degrees 11 times and the remaining 19 days reached into the 90's.



2011 is shaping up to be one of the hottest on record. That seems to be our most asked question, next to "Where is the toilet?" I've been thinking about The Crap Theory again and WW activity points.

I earn a lot of activity points. Last week I added an extra 38 to my plan. I earned 10 on Saturday alone after running five miles in about an hour.

And like most Club WW members who earn extra points, I ate every one of them.

I began earning activity points about six months after starting this journey in 2009. The world is spinning today.

And it's not much fun.

Dillypoo has inner ear issues. I'm partially deaf in one ear and experience occasional bouts of vertigo. My last episode was almost four years ago, though, so today's spinning is a bit unexpected.

And unwelcome.

Things aren't that bad...yet. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse and just goes away.

My frigid visit to the doctor two weeks ago culminated in a mammogram exam last week.

Dillypoo is 47 years old. My maternal grandmother had breast cancer and I'm considered an "at risk" candidate for it, so I get a mammogram every year.

And every year I get a call after my mammogram asking me to return for a second exam because my first one indicated something suspicious.

Yesterday was Dillypoo Day! I hope everyone had a lovely celebration. I did. This year, I met my mom and best friend at a day spa where we spent FIVE hours being rubbed, scrubbed, dipped and pampered.

I had a one hour massage.

And a body sugar scrub.

Followed by a facial.

And lunch.

Topped off with a manicure and pedicure.

And wine.

It was wonderfully relaxing. It's time for Dillypoo to commit to a new goal for this year.

My second running group ends Saturday with the Fort Worth Zoo Run. If I survive the 10K (and survival is debatable - I peeked online at a course map), then I'll be ready to move forward with my third fitness goal for 2011. Coach Molly thinks I'm ready to train for a half marathon.

That's 13.1 miles. Thirteen point one. Miles.

Dillypoo loves what running does for me. Dillypoo's bladder, however, does not love running.

Staying dry is becoming more of a challenge now the weather is getting warmer. The longer I run and the hotter it gets, the more likely I am to wet myself after a run.

It's both worrisome and just a bit embarrassing.

I've decided that Vegemite is good for me and The Professor. It's loaded with B vitamins, has virtually no calories and (surprisingly) the sodium content is pretty low.

So I'm looking for ways to incorporate it into our regular diet. I'm still not sold on spreading it on toast, though. I like my toast plain with butter.

I'm a toast purist.

I'm blaming Daylight Savings Time. It's DARK at 7:00 a.m.! That's just not right.

I can't get my fanny out of bed in the morning to do anything more than race the clock and get to work on time.

I also had to work late last night which means I missed my group run.

I like going to my weekly meetings even though I'm at goal and technically only need to check in once a month. They help keep me focused on a healthy lifestyle and I learn new things, especially with the new Points Plus plan. I like the people there, too. My leader is awesome and I've made friends with some of the members.

Dillypoo is maintaining her weight after reaching goal five months ago. In fact, this past Tuesday I weighed in .8 pounds under goal. I'd like to lose another three pounds so I'm really under goal, but I'm not pushing myself for it.
